From your first visit to the Eye Center, you’ll enjoy expert, personal service.  In order to be sure to get a complete picture of your eye care needs, we expect to spend an hour to two hours with you on your first visit.

Please bring these things with you to your first visit:

  • Your current glasses or contact lenses
  • A list of medications you’re taking, including over the counter as well as prescription medications
  • Your insurance information

Our highly-trained technicians and doctors will conduct eye exams to understand your overall vision health and to determine whether your eyes need correction.

We may dilate your eyes. That means we’ll put drops in your eyes to make the pupil larger, so that the eye doctor can see the optic nerve and the back of the eye. This is important for identifying possible health issues that could affect your vision.

Your eyes will be sensitive to light for a few hours after dilation, and will need protection. You may choose to bring sunglasses, or we will give you protective glasses. Most people are able to drive; however, if you feel uncomfortable with the idea of driving yourself home with dilated eyes, you may choose to bring someone with you to your appointment.

If you need corrective lenses, we can fill your prescription here at the Eye Center, where we carry a wide range of fashionable frames. If there are concerns about your eye health, we will discuss these concerns and make you aware of the options available to you.

The Eye Center has a full staff of optometrists, opthalmologists, opticians and technicians, and we provide comprehensive eye care, including cataract surgery. If you need specialized care, we will schedule it here at the Eye Center.
